Minneapolis route added to Pellston Regional Airport flight schedule for summer 2016
Pellston Regional Airport travelers will have a new option for flights this summer, with Delta adding a route to Minneapolis to complement long-standing daily flights to Detroit.
Airport Manager Kelley Atkins said beginning June 9, there will be two flights daily to Detroit Metro (DTW) and one flight daily to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). That schedule will last through June 30.
Beginning July 1 and running through the end of August, there will be three daily flights to Detroit and one to Minneapolis. During the last two weeks of July (only), there will be four daily flights to Detroit and one to Minneapolis.
From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, the schedule will allow two daily flights to Detroit and one to Minneapolis.
The additional flights are the result of the work of the Air Service Task Force and the airport administration in offering suggestions to Skywest, which serves as the airlink partner for Delta at PLN.
“It’s encouraging to see the extra seats. We’ll continue to work with Skywest to get as favorable of a schedule as we can out of Pellston,” said Atkins. “More flights is a good thing for any community, and it’s important that we partner with Delta and Skywest to fill the seats.”
As a reminder to travelers utilizing the convenience of PLN, parking is always free (long-term and short-term). The Transportation Security Administration requires travelers to arrive 1.5 hours prior to departure for check-in.
Hoppies Landing Restaurant continues to maintain a successful restaurant and full-service bar operation on the second level of the main terminal, serving lunch and dinner daily.
